“…one of the best vape pens for concentrates that we’ve ever used.”
SPEED REVIEW (SUMMARY)
This is one vape that does not disappoint. It heats up fast, produces thick clouds of tasty vapor, holds a charge for multiple days, and it's incredibly easy to use. In short, this is one of our favorite pen vapes for concentrates and for good reason: it works great and it's as reliable as it is powerful and efficient. No complaints here. This is one vape that we definitely recommend. Just note that it is NOT designed to handle liquids, only waxes and oils. If you're interested in buying this awesome little vape, we suggest buying it through an authorized dealer such as this store here.
*This is a quick summary, in-depth review below.
While it might seem strange to some, the Ghost doesn’t actually have any temperature controls. Nope. Nothing. All there is is a power button. Turn it on and vape. Straight forward and simple. What’s nice about this is that you don’t have to fiddle around with the temp settings in order to get a vape session in. All you have to do is load it up, press the power button, and begin to vape. And unlike most other vape pens, it actually runs at a pretty low vaping temperature. You might think this a problem, but let us assure you, it is not. It’s literally the opposite. Because it vapes at a lower temperature than most other vapes of its type, it ensures that the blend is never charred or burned, which results in smoother vapor while helping extend the life of the coils. In other words, this vape is smart enough to control the temperature for you, leaving you with little to do but enjoy the vapor.
Heat Up Time
Not interested in waiting around for your vape to heat up? Then don’t. The Dabber Ghost heats up in an instant. Press the button and begin to inhale. It’s that fast and it’s that simple. Now while you can hit it right after you turn it on, we prefer to heat it up for a few seconds before we use it if we just packed it. This way, the blend melts down into the wick before use, improving the vapor production’s consistency.
While Dr. Dabber claims that the Ghost is rated to deliver some 400 puffs before requiring a recharge, we’ve found that number to be quite a bit smaller based on actual usage. Of course, this all depends on how long your “puffs” are, but for us, we found the actual number of puffs to be closer to around 250 per charge. This typically translates into at least 2-3 days of use before requiring a recharge. Which, again, is dependent upon usage. In this regard, battery life, the Ghost fares exceptionally well. Plenty of juice to get the job done.
When it comes time to charge the battery, you’ll be pleased to find that after holding up for a few days straight without a recharge, it only takes about 2 hours for it to fully replenish itself. In order to charge it, simply plug it in via the USB charging cord it comes with and you’re good to go. Two hours later, assuming it’s completely depleted, it’ll be good as new, assuming you don’t have any issues with your battery. If you do have issues with your battery, do yourself a favor and contact Dr. Dabber immediately as the battery is covered by a 3-month manufacturer’s guarantee. That means, if you do have a problem with your battery within the first three months, you can reach out to Dr. Dabber for a free solution and they’ll make sure you’re taken care of.
Due to the nature in which this vape charges, USB, it’s possible to buy a portable battery pack that you can use to recharge it on the go. These days, these types of external battery packs for USB-enabled devices come a variety of shapes, sizes, and prices. Which is why it’s no problem finding one that works for your needs. Not that the Ghost needs it given how long its battery lasts without it, but it’s a nice accessory for those that really want to take their freedom to the next level. In addition, the Ghost can be charged via a car charger. So you should have no problem keeping it charged no matter where you go.
Dabber’s Ghosts are more or less the perfect sized vaporizers. They fit really well in your pocket- so well you might forget you have one in there. You could even fit two if you cared to. And when you hold them, they just feel right. Not too light. Not too heavy. Just nice and solid. As far as size and weight are concerned, this is a near perfect vaporizer. Extremely portable, yet still comfortable to hold.
The only issues that we’re aware of are with the charger not working properly, somewhat typical battery issues, and atomizers shipping dead on arrival. Fortunately, Dr. Dabber is well equipped to handle these issues and in addition, all of their products are covered by a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. The Ghost battery, more specifically, appears to be covered by a 3-month manufacturer’s warranty. So if you should run into any issues, either the aforementioned or others, reach out to Dr. Dabber to let them know because they’re sure to help you out. Other than that, we just haven’t run into any real issues with this vape. It’s a solid pen. Works well with concentrates. That’s about all there is to it.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Wondering how to clean the Dr. Dabber Ghost? It’s easy, super-duper easy. Assuming you’re using the new ceramic wick atomizers, all you have to do is soak them in isopropyl alcohol for a few hours, rinse, dry, and reuse. For the outside of the vape, a quick wipe down with a lightly dampened cloth should do the trick. This is one vape that’s really easy to keep up with. No serious effort required.
Note: We generally suggest that you attach any components that you’ve cleaned to the vape after thoroughly drying them and run some dry runs at max temp in order to burn off any residues leftover from the cleaning process.
- Check your atomizer before you load it because if it doesn’t work, you’re going to wish you’d checked it first. Why? Because of how much of a pain it is to get out once you realize that it doesn’t work. While we wish it wasn’t the case, atomizers occasionally appear dead on arrival (DOA), so it’s best to check them before you use them. In order to check one, simply attach it to the vape and power it up for a few seconds to make sure it works. Simple as that.
- Try using a water filter accessory in conjunction with the vape. It’s not a huge enhancement to the quality of vapor, but it is noticeably smoother. Not by much though. Still, worth doing if you’re able.
- For light hits, take quick draws. This is necessary due to the lack of temperature controls, however, it works great. Quick draws, little hits.
- For thick clouds, take long draws. Doing so will produce a significant amount of vapor in a short period of time and the result is a lungful and then some if you do it right.
The Ghost pen vaporizer “Kit” comes with the vape itself, stainless steel tool, an extra atomizer, USB charger, a shatterproof container, and the instructions on how to use it- not that you’ll need them given how easy it is to use, but it’s still there if you need it. The “Full Rx Bundle” comes with all of this plus a globe attachment, which is an accessory that we just can’t live without. We strongly suggest buying the globe attachment if you use this vape because it truly is a must-have accessory. In addition to what comes in box, there are also accessories available for purchase separately, which include the following:
- Atomizers – These stock atomizers can be purchased individually or in packs of five. We prefer the ceramic ones.
- Ceramic Ghost Atomizers – These are higher quality than the stock ones, but not by much. They’re only a little more expensive than the normal ones and like the normal ones, they’re sold individually as well as in packs of five.
- Ghost Globe Attachment – Easily our favorite add-on. While not 100% necessary, we absolutely recommend it. It’s inexpensive and it makes the Ghost that much more fun to use as it allows you to see the vapor that you’ve about to inhale as it’s being produced. Worth every penny.
- 510 Thread To Magnet Top – This attachment allows you to use your Ghost battery to power and of Dabber’s three Aurora atomizers.
- Replacement Top – This is the whole top piece that’s made up of the mouthpiece, atomizer, and filter. If you need it, it can be purchased.
- Replacement Battery – Either as a replacement or as a backup, the Ghost’s battery can be purchased separately. It’s backed by a 3-month warranty.
- USB Charger – This is the standard charger for the Ghost. If you need a backup or replacement, they can be purchased for cheap.
Ghost vapes are covered by a “No Questions Asked” one-year manufacturer’s warranty just like the rest of Dr. Dabber’s products. This means that if anything goes wrong with the vape, its battery, or its charger within the first year, they’ll make sure you’re taken care of. And if they can’t fix it, they’ll either replace it or allow you to return it. Either way, they’re not going to leave you hanging with something that you can’t even use.
Note: We’re really not 100% on the specifics of this warranty coverage, as the battery itself appears to be covered by a separate 3-month “No Questions Asked” guarantee.
The atomizer plays no small part in the Ghost’s design and as their are different styles available, you’ll want to make it a point to choose wisely between the two. The old version is nothing short of hi-quality as it boasts high-resistance titanium and a hi-quality wick, but the new version is that much better. With a grade 4 titanium heating coil wrapped evenly around a medical grade ceramic wick, you’re going to be hard pressed to find something better. This is an incredible atomizer. Truly superb. For those that have the old one, do yourself a favor and pickup the new one. It’s a significant improvement. But either way, new or old, both atomizers are capable of producing some really impressive vapor, in part due to their receded coil design which allows it to properly heat concentrates that would otherwise drip down and collect like they often do with other vaporizer pens. To explain this better for those unfamiliar with the receded coil design, what this entails is a coil that rests closer to the bottom of the chamber, which means nothing has a chance to drip down and collect because the heat source is right there ready to vape it all away. Excellent design.
Because it operates at lower temperatures, the Ghost is able to maintain the blend’s flavor profile for an extended period of time. This means that the vapor tastes better for longer as you ripping it. It also helps keep the overall temperature of the vapor down, resulting in smoother draws. And as if that wasn’t enough of a reason to appreciate its low-temp design, it also helps ensure that your blend is never burned or charred, which can distort the taste in a negative fashion. And given that you can get light hits or huge rips with it just be adjusting the rate and duration of your draw, we can’t help but love the vapor that it produces. It’s instant, it’s full-bodied, and it’s absolutely delicious. There’s no doubt about it, this is one vape that has excellent vapor production. And for those who want to make a good thing that much better: you can always attach a glass water filter to make that much smoother.
Dr. Dabber’s Ghost is one of the best vape pens for concentrates that we’ve ever used. It’s lightweight, compact, and it has incredible vapor production. Just about the only thing it doesn’t do is support liquids. That’s right, if you didn’t realize it, the Ghost is actually designed for non-liquid concentrates such as waxes and oils. If you can get passed that, this pocket-friendly portable is one of the best concentrate vaporizers on the market. Worth every penny. If you’re interested in buying this vaporizer, one which we highly recommend, we suggest you buy it through an authorized retailer such as this store here.
